The Police have warned politicians to desist from vote buying on election day or face the wrath of the law.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Administration, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Usman Tilli, gave the warning in Gombe on Tuesday while addressing stakeholders.
He said vote buying on election day was an offence and the police would not leave any stone unturned to arrest anyone engaging in the act.
“You are free to buy your votes before the election but on the election day is not permitted because it is an offence,” he said.
