INEC has commenced collation of results at the 10 Registration Areas in Kaura Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
However, some of the INEC Presiding Officers said that they were experiencing challenge transmitting accreditation data and results via the Bi-Modal Voters Accreditation Machine System.
One of them, Jude Thomas, Presiding Officer, Nadabo Duniya 1 Polling Unit, 003, Manchok Ward, told NAN on Saturday in Manchok that he has tried several internet network providers without success.
“I don’t know what to do, but I was told to keep trying and that is what I have been doing,” he said.
Similarly, Nache Aluwong, Presiding Officer, Kazah Dube Polling Unit, 006, also said that he has been trying to transmit the data, but the network has been terribly bad.
When contacted, the INEC Electoral Officer in the LGA, Sa’ad Abdulrahman, said he was aware of the challenge and attributed it to internet connection challenge.
“We have advised them to keep trying and it will upload once the network becomes strong,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gideon Gwani, member representing Kaura Federal Constituency and contesting the seat for the fifth term has won his polling unit with 177 votes.
Benjamin Gugong of the All Progressives Congress trailed with 77 votes, while Donatus Mathew of the Labour Party got 37 votes.
