Elections: Tinubu casts his vote, says ‘I am too confident of victory’

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has cast his vote at a polling unit in Bourdillion, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Voting alongside his wife, Remi, and other party chieftains, Mr Tinubu expressed optimism that he is “too confident of victory”.

According to him, the voting process is “going smoothly” and “going well”.

The APC candidate said: “This is expected, we need a good turnout and that is the adoption and the commitment to democracy and the democratic process must take place.”

Meanwhile, the APC vice-presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, was yet to cast his vote at Shettimari polling unit 001 in Lawan Bukar ward of Maiduguri metropolis but could not vote due to the absence of election officials.

Mr Shettima arrived at the polling unit around 10 a.m. and met many other voters waiting for the arrival of election materials and officials.

Accompanied by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, Mr Shettima waited for about 10 minutes before leaving.
