The Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II on Thursday led the funeral prayer for the mother of Commander-General of Hisbah, Aminu Daurawa, at Karkasara quarters in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
Hajiya Saadatu Almu, 84, died on Wednesday night after protracted illness.
DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that this is the first time the emir attended and led funeral prayers outside the palace since his ascension to the throne in 2014.
His predecessor, Ado Bayero, only attended a very few funeral prayers, including those of a renowned philanthropist Sani Marshal and Islamic scholar Sheikh Abe, in his over 50 years on the throne.
