Heavily armed security operatives have sealed off the Kano Emir’s palace, locking up the dethroned emir Muhammadu Sanusi in the premises.
Recall that the governor, in a press statement read by the secretary of the state government, Usman Alhaji, had dethroned Mr Sanusi as the emir of Kano over what he described as the emir’s total disrespect to the provisions of the Kano Emirate Law.
The emir, according to the SSG, was persistently refusing to attend official meetings and programmes organized by the state government without any lawful justification which amount to total insubordination.
DAILY NIGERIAN observed that dozens of the Nigerian police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, have cordoned off the palace’s entrance, disallowing people from going in or out of the palace.
