The Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna State, Ahmed Bamalli, has warned residents of the emirate especially Gwargwaje youths to desist from a planned demonstration over the electrocution of 11 people in the community.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that high electricity voltage supply to the area on Wednesday resulted in the death of 11 persons and destruction of properties.
But in a statement on Friday, the emir said it was unfortunate that some elders in the community are encouraging the youths to embark on demonstration.
He warned that security operatives have been put on notice to prevent the breakdown of law and order.
The statement said, “This is totally wrong. It’s sad that some elites/elders are pushing these young people to something that might lead to breakdown of law and order at Gwargwaje and other other locations.
“I encourage all leaders in this group to please caution the people under them to refrain from this unacceptable act.”
Mr Bamalli said there are more civil way of expressing displeasure without resorting to riots or protest.
“The police and other security agencies are fully prepared to prevent any breach of peace, warning the youth to be guided,” the monarch added.
