DAILY NIGERIAN reports the state governor, Abba Yusuf had last week assented to the new law that dissolved the five emirates and removed the emirs.
The decision did not go down well with the dethroned emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero who challenged the law in court.
The former emir, who was in Ondo state when the governor signed the law, was said to have been smuggled into the state by the military.
Mr Bayero is currently staying and holding court at Nassarawa royal residence, Kano.
