The North East Farmers Support Association, NECAS, says at least 48 out of the 110 tractors stolen from warehouses have been recovered in Adamawa State.
Recall that on Monday, hoodlums under the guise of #EndSARS protests broke into the Rice Farmers Association’s warehouse and carted away 110 new tractors and farm inputs in Yola, the state capital.
According to a report by the BBC Hausa service on Wednesday, the NECAS National Chairman, Adamawa State said the tractors were recovered following a house-to-house search launched by the security agents in the state.
Mr Daware disclosed that the tractors were meant to help farmers revitalize their operations in the north-eastern part of the country, which has been plagued by the Boko Haram insurgency.
“In the past few weeks, videos of young people driving tractors bearing the name of NECAS have been circulating on social media following food and agricultural activities at food stalls in several Nigerian states,” he said.
