Former Bafana Bafana captain Neil Tovey believes Ghana is well placed to annex the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations crown in Gabon.

The Black Stars narrowly missed out to Ivory Coast two years ago on penalties, and Tovey said things could turn out well for Ghana this time around. They are in Group D along with Mali, Uganda and Egypt.

Tovey credited the Black Stars for their consistency in reaching the finals for the last couple of editions. Ghana are one of the most successful teams in the continent’s football showpiece, having won it in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982.
