An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 22-year-old fashion designer, Abdulazeez Owoyemi, who allegedly robbed two men of phones at gunpoint.
The Chief Magistrate, M.I. Dan-Oni, ordered that Owoyemi should be kept in the Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos, pending advice from the state Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
She directed that the case file should be sent to the DPP.
Thus, the court did not take the defendant’s plea.

Mrs Dan-Oni adjourned the case until July 27 for mention.
Mr Owoyemi, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with others still at large on May 9, at 11p.m. at Akoberu Aka Road, Okoko, Lagos.
Mr Eruada said that the defendant armed himself with a locally made double barrel shotgun, attacked one Ifeanyi Edeh and robbed him of a Tecno phone worth N6,500.
He said that the defendant also robbed one Augustine Azoho of a Samsung phone worth N40,000 and a Nokia phone worth N5,000.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 411 and 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
