Finally, court nullifies impeachment of Okorochas deputy, Madumere

An Owerri High Court on Tuesday declared the impeachment of the Imo State Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere illegal.

According to reports by the Punch, the Justice Benjamin Iheaka-led court declared Mr Madumere’s impeachment as invalid and of no legal effect.

Justice Iheaka also flayed the Chief Judge of the state, Paschal Nnadi and the Attorney General of the state, Militus Nlemadim for not adhering to the provisions of section 188(5) of the 1999 constitution as amended in the impeachment of Madumere on July 31, 2018.

Recall that Mr Madumere was impeached on July 30 by the Imo State House of Assembly.
