The Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Sanusi, has approved the removal of the suspended District Head of Bamaina, Mustapha Lamido, with immediate effect.

Mr Lamido, who also holds the title of San Turakin Dutse, is the son of a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido.

A statement by the secretary of the emirate, Amadu Malami, said a substantive district head would soon be appointed to replace him.

The decision followed confirmation of reports of participation in active politics by the district head.

Mr Lamido, 34, was first appointed ward head by the emir immediately after his father became the governor of the state, and a year later the emir promoted him to the position District Head of Bamaina and Santurakin Dutse.
