France hails multinational forces in combating Boko Haram

The French army minister, Madame Florence Parly has commended the Multinational Joint Task Force , MNJTF, based Ndjamena, Chad for their success in the combat against the insurgents Boko Haram sect in the region.

Madame Parley, who led a powerful delegation of French Senior Defence Personnel to the headquarters of MNJTF in Ndjamena, was received by the force’s Deputy Force Commander, Moussa Mahamat Djoui, on behalf of the Force Commander, Lucky Irabor.

She said the intention of their visit was to congratulate MNJTF and equally get the experience from them on how to administer G5 SAHEL Joint Task Force in their endeavour to combat insecurity in the Sahel region.

The visit featured an interactive session where Madame Parley requested to know the main reasons behind the MNJTF successes and the secret of MNJTF staff cooperation composed of personnel from five different countries – Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Benin Republic.

In his welcome remarks, Mr Djoui, a brigadier general, expressed gratitude for the visit and spoke briefly about MNJTF operations, a statement by military information officer, Mustapha Anka said.

He thanked the delegation and commended the French government for its support to the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin Region.

The Deputy Force Commander said “the MNJTF successes are based on trust, individual and collective commitment and sacrifices as well as the timely sharing of intelligence and communication amongst staff.”
