The All India Football Federation has finally discovered that the Indian Super League’s supposed 16-year-old soccer player Gourav Mukhi is actually 28 — at least — and now suspended six months for lying about his age, according to FOX Sports Asia.

Mukhi, playing for Jamshedpur FC, was recognized in October for becoming the youngest player to ever score in the Indian Super League. They’ll need to scratch that one from the record books.

Apparently the league’s executives don’t read the newspaper. A story in India’s The Telegraph, published before the season began, referred to the fully mustached Mukhi as being 28 years old.
It’s not the first time Mukhi has duped organizers, though. Per Fox Sports Asia, Mukhi was cited in 2015 for participating in a U16 National Camp in India, when, according to his new timeline, he would have been around 25 years old.
