The governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje has appointed Baffa Babba Dan-Agundi as the new Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Agency, KAROTA.
Mr Dan-Agundi was the House Majority Leader before he was defeated in the last election.
In October last year, he headed the probe panel that started but later stopped investigation into alleged bribe videos of the governor, following a questionable court order.
The panel, however, did not challenge the order in the appellate court.
But the governor, in a statement Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, also re-appointed Idris Wada, as the Managing Director of Kano Road Maintenance Agency, KARMA.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the appointments, according to Mr Anwar, are with immediate effect.
Mr Dan-Agundi is the immediate past member, representing Kano Municipal constituency in Kano State House of Assembly.
Mr Anwar said the governor charged the appointees to work diligently as they were chosen because of their good track records in developing the state.
He emphasised that, “I am hopeful that you will make these organisations to be more robust, effective and efficient.
“Your coming on board is a pointer to your immense contributions for the state. It also shows that you will put your strength towards promoting good service delivery in your various offices,” Mr Ganduje was quoted as saying in the statement.
“While directing them to imbibe the culture of complying with best practices in their newly assigned responsibilities, he also urged them to always remain partners in progress in moving the state to higher level.
“I was able to closely monitor your contributions towards the development of the state in the last dispensation, I still maintain that passion and enthusiasm in your new assigned responsibilities. Just prove to all that you are up to the task. Which I know you are,” he quoted Mr Ganduje as saying.
