The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Tuesday has expressed shock over the demise of ace Kannywood Movie Director, Aminu Surajo Bono.
Mr Ganduje, in a statement on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, said the passage of the popular actor was a big blow to the Northern entertainment industry.
The APC national chairman said: “Bono stands tall ahead of others in the entertainment industry in terms of commitment to preserve, and promote the socio-cultural values of the Hausa/Fulani heritage”.
Mr Olofu said that Mr Bono’s life and times in the industry created a positive impact, and helped in no small measure enlist followership confidence to the industry.
“I want to use this time to identify and commiserate with his immediate family in particular, and Kannywood in general over the demise of one of the brightest brains in the industry, Ace movie Director, Aminu Surajo Bono,” the statement added.
The statement stressed that, “Bono’s life and times at the entertainment industry brought fame, to Kannywood.”
Mr Ganduje maintained that the late film director’s life on stage and off stage boosted the confidence of those who had contrary views of the industry.
“I must admit that Aminu Surajo Bono’s exit has created a gap in the entertainment industry, and this is a reality we must contend with years ahead.”
The statement, however, quoted Mr Ganduje as praying unto Allah to grant Mr Bono’s immediate family and Kannywood the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while also beseeching Allah to forgive his shortcomings.
