A United States Senator, Bernie Sanders, has said the Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal for destroying the innocent people in Gaza.
Senator Sanders, who made the claim while making a presentation at the plenary, said history will never forget American government for allowing the killings of innocent people by Mr Netanyahu.
DAILY NIGERIAN monitored the presentation as posted on the official, verified Facebook page of Mr Sanders.
He said: “What is happening in Gaza will be a permanent stain on the world’s collective conscience. History will never forget that we allowed this to happen. And for us here in the United States, that we in fact enabled this ongoing atrocity.”
According to Mr Sanders, Netanyahu is a war criminal just like Hamas.
“Nobody should have any doubts that Netanyahu is a war criminal, just like his counterparts in Hamas. He has a massive amount of innocent bloods on his hands, and now Netanyahu and his extremist ministers have a new plans, on top of everything that has been done, they have a new plan and that is to indefinitely reoccupy all of Gaza flatten the few buildings that are still standing and forced the entire population of 2.2 million into a single tiny area where hired U.S. security contractors will distribute rations to the survivors,” Mr Sanders said.
He stressed that such acts would be catastrophic anywhere in the world.
“This would be a terrible tragedy, no matter where in the world that is happening or why it is happening. Whatever the causes might be,” he said.
Mr Sanders said the worse of it, is that the U.S government is complicit in the entire happenings in Gaza.
He said: “But what makes this tragedy so much worse for us in America is that, is our government, the United States government, that is absolutely complicit in creating and sustaining this humanitarian disaster.”
