The Niger State Government said arrangements have been concluded for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Minna-Bida Road project by Governor Umaru Bago.

A statement issued by the chief press secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, said the event will take place at Kakakpangi village on Thursday.

Mr Ibrahim said the ceremony is expected to attract eminent personalities both from within and outside the state.

The 82km is co-financed by the Islamic Development Bank, IsDB,, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD, and the Niger State Government.

Mr Ibrahim disclosed that there would be similar events for the Bida-Lemu-Wushishi road supported by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, as well as the Bida township road projects.

“The farmer governor will equally perform the groundbreaking of 5km road projects each in Mokwa, Enagi, Kutigi, Lemu, Katcha, Agaie, and Lapai between 10th and 11th of May 2024.

“The projects, when completed, would enhance accessibility to rural areas, improve connectivity and reduce isolation, as well as improve safety,” the statement added.
