Gov. Radda launches ICT program, #hackKatsina

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina has officially launched #hackKatsina, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in the state.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, the governor said the initiative demonstrates his administration’s commitment to translating innovative ideas into thriving startups that drive the state’s economic growth.
The governor, who was represented by the Director General of the Katsina State Directorate of ICT, KATDICT, Naufal Ahmad, said #hackKatsina is a three-month program designed to turn ideas into impactful, scalable startups.
According to him, the program will involve “an intensive series of bootcamps, hackathons, incubation, and pitch competitions.
“The program seeks to empower innovators across Katsina State’s 34 local governments with the tools, mentorship, and resources necessary to solve critical challenges in key sectors, including, Agriculture, Creative Economy,Green Energy, Education,Healthcare, Infrastructure and security,” he added.
Mr Ahmad emphasized the program’s role in building a sustainable ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship.
“On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Dikko Radda, I am proud to unveil this transformative program.
“#HackKatsina is purpose-built to translate ideas into startups that address real-world challenges while driving economic and social development in our state.
“This initiative is not only a platform for innovation but also a launchpad for the next generation of Katsina entrepreneurs.”
The Katsina State Directorate of ICT has been a trailblazer in driving the digital transformation of the state, and #HackKatsina is a testament to its mission of empowering local talent and creating a knowledge-driven economy.
The organisers said the program is being implemented in collaboration with Kirkira Innovation Hub and the broader Katsina tech ecosystem, ensuring inclusive participation and a collective focus on delivering impactful solutions.
“Applications are now open to aspiring innovators and problem-solvers ready to lead Katsina’s entrepreneurial future,” he added.
Participants will undergo rigorous training, mentorship, and hands-on experiences to develop viable startups that can scale and succeed.
