The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has queried the emir of Katsina, Abdulmumin Kabir, over the non-participation of some district heads in the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir durbar festival.
In a letter dated June 27, 2024 with reference number: S/SGRT/77/S2/T, the governor directed the emirate council to provide explanations over absence of the traditional rulers in the durbar.
He said the directive was in response to the council’s earlier communication dated June 7, 2024, on the subject of “Sanarwar Hawan Sallah Babba.”
The letter further explained that Mr Radda attaches great importance to unity and cultural solidarity, and expects active participation from all leaders in such significant communal events.
“I am directed to seek clarification on why certain district heads did not participate in the recent Eid-el-Kabir Hawan Sallah celebration,” stated Sani Rabiu Jibia.
“The Governor attaches great importance to unity and cultural solidarity and expects active participation from all leaders in such significant communal events,” the letter reads.
DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the Hawan Bariki takes place on the second day of Eid celebration.
During the celebration, the emir leads a long procession of horse riders from the palace to the government house to felicitate with the governor and pass on the people’s messages, requests, and needs to the governor.
