The governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has approved the immediate sack of eight directors at the Kano Internal Revenue Service, KIRS.
In a circular dated January 18, the governor said the decision was “part of the ongoing efforts towards achieving the desired objectives of the present government”.
In the circular, signed by Hamisu Garko, the executive director Support Services, on behalf of the KIRS chairman, Sani Dambo, directed the affected directors to handover to their deputies with immediate effect.
“As part of the ongoing efforts towards achieving the desired objectives of the present government, I am directed to inform you that the undermentioned directors have been relieved from their post (responsibilities) and are to handover to their Deputies with immediate effect.
“The affected directors include: director Assessment, Muhammad Kabir Umar; director Human Resource, Kabiru Magaji; director Government Business, Ibrahim Sammani; Aminu Umar Kawu, director Road and Other Taxes and; Muhd Auwal Abdullahi, director Tax Audit, Investigation & Debt Management.
“Other directors include Abubakar Garba Yusuf, director of ICT; Hamisu Ado Magaji, director of PAYE and; Bashir Yusuf Madobi and director of Legal & Enforcement,” the circular stated.
