An international non-governmental organisation (NGO) under the auspices of ElanExpo international Trade Fairs has advocated for the support of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) to steer its upcoming West African Water Expo.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja at a courtesy visit to the NSE, West African Cordinator ElanExpo International, Mr Chime Jude, disclosed that the aim of the Western African Water Expo was to address the issue of water supply across the West African Region.
He maintained that the issues relating to water across Western African Countries cannot be addressed without bringing the Nigeria Society of
Engineers on board, thereby stressed the need for Engineers to participate actively in the West Africa Water Expo.
“We can’t talk about water without talking about engineering process, yesterday and today its lake Chad who knows what the discussion tomorrow would be, that is why we are organising the West Africa water Expo and exhibition to bring all the stakeholders together to solve tomorrow’s problem and that is why the engineers need to be a part of this event,” Jude said.
“That is also why we have come today to seek your support in various ways, at least to have your logo in all our publicity materials, to also have a letter from you welcoming our exhibitors.”
He also solicited for the support of the NSE to reach out to its various members and other regions within Western Africa bodies to be a part of the event strongly, stressing that the problem is not just a Nigeria problem but a West Africa problem.
“We believe that if we stick together we will definitely make it a bigger show and becomes a plus for the engineers and NSE at large,” he added.
