A mobile policeman attached to Operation Farauta has been abducted in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State on Saturday evening, DAILY NIGERIAN has learnt.
The kidnappers stormed Tike area on motorcycles around 7pm, asking hastily of the owner of a beautiful house in the area.
Sources said the policeman, who was dressed in flowing babbarriga gown and cap, was mistaken by the kidnappers as a richman in the area.
“The informants gave the kidnappers the description of Alhaji Idi, but at the time they came, Alhaji Idi has changed into casual dress and a beanie cap,” said a resident of the town, Kabiru Kelly.
“They started asking, where is the owner of this house… where is Alhaji… Everyone was silent, so they picked the mopol who was wearing babbarriga and a cap to celebrate Christmas.”
Spokesman for the Adamawa Police Command Suleiman Nguroje, did not respond to our reporter’s call.
