The Niger State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Idris Mohammed, has been kidnapped by suspected bandits in Tafa Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the bandits invaded the commissioner’s house around 11 pm on Sunday and took him away.
The spokesman of the police in the state, Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
Reacting to the incident, Mary-Noel Berge, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abubakar Bello, said security agents were already on the trail of the bandits.
“The commissioner was said to be kidnapped by Bandits around 11pm from his home, at Baban Tunga village of Tafa local government of the state.
“Security agencies are however already trailing bandits to comprehend them,” said Mrs Berge in a statement on Monday.
