Gunmen on Wednesday night invaded the residence of a Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Nasarawa State, Apollos Dandaura, abducting his wife in Lafia, the state capital.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the residence of Mr Dandaura who is the Commander of the Special Intelligence Squad around 8:30, shooting sporadically to scare residents before whisking away the wife of the commander.
It was also gathered that the younger brother of the commander who is also a personnel of the NSCDC, was shot during the incident.
While confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Command of the NSCDC, Jerry Victor, said personnel had been deployed to the area, adding that efforts were on to rescue the victim unharmed.
