The chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, Bashir Abdullahi, has written a petition to police, State Security Service, SSS and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC against members New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, for allegedly killing a supporter of APC and injuring others.
In the petition sent to DAILY NIGERIAN on Wednesday, Mr Abdullahi accused a former TETfund boss, Baffa Bichi, of spearheading the attack.
In the petition, signed by his lawyers, Salisu Muhammad Lawal and Ibrahim Abere, the chairman said that the attack happened when Mr Bichi led the party’s campaign trail to Kutama Ward in Gwarzo Local Area of the state.
He alleged that Mr Bichi led other NNPP officials such as Nasir Sule Garo, Kabiru Haruna, Abdullahi Kwami and Umaru Danmakau to the community, brandishing “dangerous weapons, including guns.”
The petition said when they reached their target, they instantly shot one person, identified as Abdullahi Shuaibu, who died in hospital in Gwarzo.
The petition also alleged that the NNPP supporters shot other members of the public, including Mallam Umar, Ibrahim Umar and Babangida Ado, leaving them with different degrees of bullet injuries on their legs.

The chairman also alleged that the NNPP supporters had attacked his house by burning part of it.
According to him, the victims are presently in Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where they are receiving treatment after being referred from Gwarzo Hospital.
“We act as Solicitors to Eng. Bashir Abdullah, the Chairman, Gwarzo Local Government, referred to as our client and on whose behalf we write you this letter with all its attendant urgency!
“It is the brief of one of our clients that on the 6th day of February, 2023 at about 4pm, the campaign trains of Dr Baffa Bichi, Nasir Sule Garo, Kabiru Getso Haruna, Abdullahi Sani Kwami and Umaru Danmakau came into Kutama ward of Gwaro Local Government for their political activities including rallies.
“On that fateful day, some of the members of the above mentioned groups of politicians campaign were armed with dangerous weapons of various kinds including guns and were wielding them against members of the public,” the petition reads.
It added that the NNPP members allegedly attacked “the house of our client and killed one Abdullahi Shuaibu who died the same day from the gunshot after he was rushed to the Gwarzo hospital.
The petitioners therefore urged the police to promptly investigate and prosecute the culprits in order to avert breakdown of law and order.
