The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has revealed that over 8,000 Nigerian pilgrims have arrived Makkah after spending their usual eight days in Madinah for this year’s Hajj.
The NAHCON’s coordinator in Makkah, Suleiman Usman stated this in an interview with newsmen on Thursday.
Mr Usman expressed satisfaction with the smooth transportation and reception of the Pilgrims.
He also commended the pilgrims for their conduct and the way they are performing their religious duties in the Holy City.
The Coordinator stated that, unlike in Madinah, no any report of any Pilgrim being shortchanged, duped or swindled in Makkah so far.
Mr Usman further said NAHCON, in collaboration with all stakeholders in Makkah have been cooperating and working together to ensure that the Pilgrims’ welfare was well taken care of.
He explained that, like previous years, this year, arrangements have been concluded to move Pilgrims to Mina on the wee hours of Dhul-Hijja 8.
He revealed that arrangement for the pilgrims’ feeding during the Masha’ir has already been concluded, adding that the officials aren’t advanced stage of documentation with the authorities of Saudi Arabia.
On health, the coordinator stated that about five fully operational clinics were set aside at strategic locations to attend to Pilgrims and for effective health delivery.
