At least 4 people were killed after suspected members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, attacked Hausa traders at Abraka Market, Delta State, on Friday evening.

Witnesses told DAILY NIGERIAN that the IPOB members, who came in two buses, first dropped what was suspected to be a bomb at the residence of Hausa community leader in Delta, Ibrahim Gero.

The house is located at Hausa Quarters, Cable Point, Delta.

“After planting the bomb at the house of Hausa community leader in Cable Point, they moved to Abraka where they killed four people and injured many,” said Munir Abba Alkusy, a resident of the area who saw the attackers.

Spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, Celestina Kalu, could not be reached for comment as she neither answered our reporter’s call nor responded to a text message seeking police reaction to the killings.

Contacted, the Hausa community leader (Sarkin Hausawan Delta), Ibrahim Gero, confirmed the killing of four Hausa residents to DAILY NIGERIAN, adding that the Nigerian Army, police and SSS have cordoned off the area.

“Four Hausa residents were killed in Abraka, while many of them are injured. A bomb was planted in my house. It was just defused by the police this night,” he said.
