The 23rd Armoured Brigade, Yola, Adamawa state has set up a special task force to address the incessant herdsmen and farmers clashes in the state.

The Brigade Commander, Bello Muhammad, who stated this in Yola on Sunday, shortly after the routine ‘Operation Show of Force’, said: “We have just set up a joint task force to handling farmers/herders crisis in Adamawa state.

“There is a drastic reduction in farmers /herders and the communal crisis in the state, this has been a result of collaboration between all security agencies in the state.

“The task force is all-inclusive, including other security agencies and is yielding positive results,” he noted.

Mr Mohammed, a brigadier-general, was emphatic that the routine quarterly show of force was specifically organised in preparation of the forthcoming party primaries and subsequent elections.

“It meant to draw attention to the election programs which begin with party primaries and general elections,” Mr Muhammad emphasised.
