Ten households in some in Fagge Local Government area of Kano State have rejected the March round of the National Immunisation Plus Days, NIPDs.
This was disclosed by the Head Of Department, Health, Fagge Local Government, Muhammad Yahaya, on Friday.
He said the 10 households made 17 target children.
He added that the officials would conduct an in-between round in order to resolve the cases the of non-compliance at households in question.
Mr Yahaya also revealed that 86,153 children were targeted in the March round of NIPDs in Fagge LG, saying 86,351 were so far vaccinated.
He also stated that 93,680 vaccines were used, explaining that there was increased of 198 vaccinated children which happened during the exercise.
“Those households rejected the vaccination on the ground of apathy or too many vaccination and we would resolve the problem during the in-between round,” Mr Yahaya said.
“We would try to enlighten them again on the significance of this immunisation. I am optimistic that they would be convinced,”
The H.O.D. however expressed delight on the success of this round of the NIPDs, the exercise by and large was successful this month.
“I call on the general public to further embrace this programme for the good health of their children,” he appealed.
