Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.

She arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport about 4:30am on Sunday, and was received by wives of some state governors.

The first lady had been out of the country for more than two months.
Her absence was speculated to be because of a rift with the president. But she was in the UK on vacation.

She was rumoured to have returned on Friday, but was locked up in Aso Rock to prevent her from upsetting a wedding between the president and Sadiya Umar Farouq, minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development.

On her return, the first lady said she was back ”fully rejuvenated to continue her work of improving the health and general wellbeing of women, children and other vulnerable Nigerians”.

She used the opportunity to thank her husband, family and well-wishers for their support and encouragement.

The glitz and glamour that greeted her return debunked the rumours that she has issues with her husband.
