A popular Hausa singer Dauda Adamu, popularly known as Rarara, has revealed how a Christian captive took care of his mother, Hauwa Adamu, while in captivity in the kidnappers’ den.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the 75-year-old woman was released on Thursday after spending nearly three weeks in captivity.
In a social media post on Saturday, Rarara thanked Nigerians for their prayers and kind wishes during his mother’s ordeal.
He also appreciated the efforts of President Bola Tinubu; First Lady Remi Tinubu; National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu; chairman of the Senate Committee on Security, Shehu Buba and; other notable Nigerians for their efforts in ensuring his mother’s release.
“The prayers have yielded fruit. What struck me the most is how a Christian man opted to remain in captivity in order to take care of my mother. He was kidnapped a month earlier and was scheduled to leave the bandits’ den after meeting their demand, but he refused to leave.
“When he saw mama crying, he insisted to remain until Mama is released, and he stayed back for an additional two weeks in order to take care of her.
“The irony is that this man is not even of the same faith as Mama. I thank you all most sincerely, and I pray Allah rewards you accordingly,” he said.
He also said the government is doing enough to tackle insecurity in the country.
