Barely 24 hours after receiving a letter of appointment as the 15th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has conducted first court session amidst fanfare.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that a huge crowd has escorted the emir to the main palace at Kofar Kudu.
The emir, dressed in a colourful traditional attire, rode a horse from the inner recess of the palace to the outer chamber as hundreds of supporters and palace guards accompanied him.
Our reporter, who was at the palace, observed that the emir was also accompanied by many district heads that paid allegiance to him and top palace officials at Kofar kudu to commence his first official engagement.
The emir was received at the palace by senior officials and moved straight and sat on the throne.
As the tradition of the palace entails, all the district heads and traditional title holders line up and pay homage to the emir.
Hundreds of well wishers trooped to the palace to have a glimpse of the while palace drummers blare the place with different drum bitting as palace hunters fired several royal shots.
