A prominent politician in Kano, Ibrahim Ali-Amin (Little), on Friday picked the membership card of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at his Tudunwada Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
Mr Ali-Amin, a grassroots mobilizer, shot himself into the limelight of Kano politics when he led the defunct All Peoples Party, APP, and later aspired and won party’s governorship primaries in 2003.
The party later decided against Mr Ali-Amin’s contest and gave the ticket to the runner-up, Ibrahim Shekarau.
Speaking to DAILY NIGERIAN on Friday night, Mr Ali-Amin said he was yet to decide on contesting for Kano governor in 2019.
“The situation and circumstances one finds himself in determine the appropriate political move one should make.
“For now, I haven’t decided on that issue. I join the party not because of any political ambition.
“I am a man of the people. My primary concern is to get any opportunity where I can make positive impact on the lives of the people.
“And I have been doing this long before venturing into politics. There are so many ways to help the people without necessarily becoming governor,” he added.
