The management of Iconic Open University, Sokoto, and Integral University, Lucknow, India, have agreed to collaborate on faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and cultural exchange programmes.

The agreement was reached during a courtesy visit to the Iconic University main campus by the pro-chancellor of the university, Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, on Friday.

A statement by the university said the purpose of Mr Akhtar’s visit was to establish a partnership and deepen academic ties between the two institutions.

“The meeting was highly anticipated, as both universities have opportunities to explore. The key discussion points included opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and cultural exchange programs. This partnership is expected to foster intercultural understanding and collaboration between the two countries.”

The statement added that during his visit, Mr Akhtar expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration between the two universities.

He also emphasised the importance of building bridges between different countries and cultures through academic partnerships.

“The pro-chancellor also stated that this collaboration will provide a platform for students and faculty to gain a global perspective and enhance their academic and professional development, the statement added.

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor of Iconic Open University, Dr. Shadi Sabeh, thanked Dr. Akhtar for his visit and expressed his confidence in the success of this partnership.

“The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties looking forward to a fruitful academic collaboration that will benefit students and faculty of both institutions.”
