The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has discovered 25 houses and arms and ammunition belonging to Sanusi Mohammed, an aide to former Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda.
Mr Mohammed (aka Sanusi Admin) was the personal assistant to Mr Yuguda between 2007 and 2015.
A top official of ICPC who preferred not to be named said on Sunday in Bauchi that the commission received a report from a whistle-blower and the anti-graft agency acted promptly on it.
“We stormed Sanusi’s New GRA residence at Bauchi on Friday and searched all the rooms, and proceeded to his other estates within the metropolis on Saturday,” he revealed.
According to the source, over 20 houses of 2 and 3 bedrooms in different location of the state capital were discovered.
Other discoveries includes four sophisticated guns with ammunition, five exotic cars and 15 new brand air-conditioners allegedly donated by Government of Republic of China to Bauchi state government during Yuguda’s administration.
Also discovered were 20 bales of Shadda brocade, 25 designer wristwatches and undisclosed amount of cash in foreign and local currencies.
According to him, investigation is on-going, and the properties have been marked ‘under ICPC investigation’.
When contacted on phone, the suspect confirmed the incident, saying “the matter is still under investigation by the ICPC so I have nothing to say in that regard”.
