The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed hope that he will garner more votes than what President Muhammadu Buhari got during the February 26 presidential election in the state.
Speaking after he cast his vote at his polling unit 008 in his hometown on Saturday, Mr Ganduje said he is confident of winning the election with a landslide in view if the massive turnout recorded at the poll.
“I am impressed with the massive turnout I have seen, especially women. This gave me hope that I will win this election with a landslide. I hope to garner more votes than what Buhari got two weeks ago,” he said.
The governor also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for smooth and orderly conduct of the poll.
