A former diplomat and a one time Governor of Adamawa State, James Barka has debunked rumours that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Mr Barka who is a member of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative, PCNI said his membership of the APC was unequivocal.

He made the clarification in a statement released by the Head of Media and Communications of the PCNI, Alkasim Abdulkadir

Mr Barka, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Malaysia, said he was confident in the renewed national leadership of the party to entrench a culture of inclusivity.

He therefore asked the general public to disregard news reports that purportedly claimed he had defected to another party after a visit by Adamawa State PDP chairman to him on the 10th of August.

Mr Barka further restated his support to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, especially the prioritization of numerous social investment programs and the infrastructure drive in North East.

He been a member of the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative since the committee was established in October 2016.
