Independence Day: Gov. Yusuf adopts 95 orphans in Kano

As part of events marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration, the governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has announced adoption of 95 orphans in Kano.

The governor’s kindness was demonstrated during a special luncheon with the 95 children presently under the care of the state orphanage home since they lost of their biological parents.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson Sanusi Dawakintofa, said Mr Yusuf declared full responsibility of the 95 Orphans henceforth.

“I want to announce that we have assumed full responsibility of all the 95 orphans domiciled in this facility, we will take care of their education from primary to tertiary, healthcare services, feeding and other social needs throughout my tenure”

The governor assured that until the end his tenure, the orphans would be treated as very important personalities with full benefit, care and privileges. He added that the state government will accord the children opportunity to reach their full potentials in life.

The statement said the orphanage home, established 54 years ago, witness such a kind gesture for the first time.

“You are now my children, I will take care of you as my own, you will begin to feel the good side of life in sha Allah” the governor assured

The statement added that the governor had donated food items worth millions of naira for the welfare, safety and food security for the orphans.
