The Kogi State Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, disclosed that the commission fixed April 28 as the verification date for the Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye’s recall, just as Mr Melaye said he had nothing to fear.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, James Apam, who made the disclosure in a statement, said that the recall verification will hold on the last Saturday of the month of April.
However, in reaction to the INEC announcement, Mr Melaye, said that he had nothing to fear.
The embattled senator took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to express confidence of overcoming his recall process.
This came shortly after Mr Melaye attacked Kogi State governor over gun-running allegations.
Mr Melaye wrote: “Nothing to fear. It is dismissive and evaporative. INEC will be served because I have appealed to the Supreme Court. I do have absolute trust in my constituents.
“They never signed anything so Yahaya Bello will have to look for the imaginary people.
“Who will go and verify the made-in Taiwan signatures if we get there. It was a colossal waste of our common patrimony. Truth is Truth.”
