The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may declare the last Saturday’s governorship election in the state as inconclusive, following a likely stalemate in the fiercely contested polls.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Abba Yusuf, polled 1,020,465 votes, against his closest rival, the incumbent governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 987,459 votes.

It was gathered that vote margin between the two contenders is 33,006 votes, which is below the number of votes cancelled in the election.
