The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Wednesday in Ibadan advised Nigerians to take advantage of various socio-economic initiatives designed by President Bola Tinubu.

The Minister, while speaking during a public enlightenment campaign on Federal Government’s various socio-economic intervention programmes, said the initiatives were designed to “ease pains and give gains to the public”.

Mr Idris, who was represented by Stanley Ugoeze, the Ministry of Information and National Orientation’s Principal Information Officer in Oyo State, said the campaign “aimed at utilising presented opportunities in the President’s initiatives”.

He stated that it was true that the country and its people were currently facing some harsh economic realities.

“However, the President has started implementing his economic recovery policies, side by side with certain policies and programmes, which are designed to take pain and give gains to the public.

“Sadly, many citizens are probably unaware of these intervention initiatives of the government or do not see that those initiatives are for them.

“It is for this reason, therefore, that the Ministry decided to stage this sensitisation in order to create such awareness and encouragement in the members of the public, towards seizing and utilising the presented opportunities in the initiatives,” Idris said.

The event featured a questions-and-answers session on how Nigerians could benefit from various socio-economic recovery interventions of President Tinubu.
