A former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has blasted the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and other opposition parties in the country for not keeping the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on its toes.
According to him, the “docile and cowardly “nature of the opposition has reinforced the ruling party in mismanaging the country.
The former lawmaker, who is a chieftain of the major opposition party, PDP, stated this on his verified Twitter account on Thursday.
Mr Sani’s outburst may not be unconnected with the rising insecurity across the country.
He added that the only active opposition in the country were the oppressed Nigerians.
“Never in the history of this country had a ruling party been so reinforced and comforted by a docile and cowardly opposition. The oppressed Nigerians have become the main and most active opposition,” Mr Sani tweeted.
The former lawmaker also queried the humongous amount of money the government claimed to have spent on security with no results to show.
“One billion dollars withdrawn from excess crude accounts for “security” and our people are daily being kidnapped or killed by bandits riding on cheap Jingchen motorcycles,” he added.
Some Twitter users, however, trooped to the comment section to share their thoughts.
@coldmanuel said, “Two sides of a coin. We are viewing the Agbado Plus Cassava side at the moment.
Another Twitter user @joechidi3 said there is no difference between the APC and the PDP. “What’s the difference between PDP and APC. Atiku is both PDP and APC.”
@Chukwuma77483833 said “Thanks, for telling him the truth” he said.
@35maryangel said the focus henceforth should be on the candidate and not political party.
“That’s why Nigerians are beginning to look at candidates and their tendencies. It isn’t about political party anymore but credible candidates.
