The Governors Abdullahi Sule and Samuel Ortom of Nasarawa and Benue States have called on President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to extend the military operation to the two states.
The two governors gave the indication at a joint security meeting which drew the participation of prominent traditional rulers, heads of security agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders from the two states held at the Nasarawa State Government House.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the two governors have resolved to continue to work closely to entrench security, peaceful coexistence especially around border communities of the two states.
On his part, Governor Sule stated that the meeting became imperative to find ways of consolidating on the peace that have been restored in the border communities of the two states.
While his counterpart, Governor Ortom expressed his commitment towards entrenching peace and development among the diverse ethnic groups in the two states.
