The All Progressives Congress, APC, Professionals Forum has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the crisis rocking the party.
The forum’s National Coordinator, Akintayo Akeem, made the call on Friday at a news conference in Abuja.
“The APC professionals Forum is interested in the unity and stability of the party and Nigeria which supersedes any other individual or sectional interest.
“Unfortunately in recent days Individual interest seems to be holding sway above Party’s interest. We as professionals and technocrats condemn this indiscipline crippling into our folds.
“We as members of our party cannot afford to distract and create for ourselves needless leadership crises and acrimony at the detriment of our set-goals of providing good governance for our dear country.
“We therefore call on Buhari, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders of the party to do more to intervene in the internal wrangling in the party,” he said.
He urged all interest groups in the party to sheath their swords and allow peace instead of resorting to needless litigation in the law courts.
“We also plead with agitating individuals or groups to allow the National Executive Committee billed for March 17, 2020 to address their concerns along with recently inaugurated APC Reconciliation Committee led by Chief Bisi Akande,” he said.
News Agency of Nigeria reports that the APC Professionals Forum is a registered support group of the party which comprises of technocrats, intellectuals, experts and professionals across fields, disciplines and areas of endeavors who are party’s card carrying members.
The primary objective of the body is to evolve programmes and initiatives that would contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria.
