InvestData Consulting Ltd. is to hold an investment summit in an effort to boost retail investor participation on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE.

The company’s Chief Research Officer, Ambrose Omordion, said in a statement in Lagos on Monday that the summit was aimed at attracting investors back to the stock market.

He said the summit, tagged “Power of Earnings Season for Profitable Trading and Investing’’, would simplify stock trading for retail investors.

According to Mr Omordion, participants at the summit would learn how to trade intelligently, beginning with setting investment objectives and applying simple tools to help in decision making as the economy continues on the recovery path.

He said that the summit would hold in Port Harcourt and Abuja on March 17 and April 14, respectively.

Mr Omordion said the summit would enable participants to appreciate the changing pattern of the Nigerian economy since its emergence from recession.

“The emergence of the nation’s economy from recession calls for new strategies for profitable investment,’’ he said.

He noted that investors were recovering from recent market correction due to price decline suffered by equities over the past three weeks.

“Participants will learn how to effectively combine fundamental and technical tools for profiting from the market transformation while protecting their capital.

He added that participants would learn how to consistently play the stock market profitably on their own, guided by its simple trading strategies and buy and sell signal setup.
