The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has commended the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and Pipeline and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, for containing fuel scarcity in the country.
IPMAN, in a statement issued by its Kano State chapter chairman, Bashir Dan-Mallam commended the management of the two agencies for launching the Operation White Project last year, which addressed the perennial problem of end-of-year scarcity of fuel in the country.
Mr Dan-Mallam attributed the success of the project to the leadership qualities and doggedness of the Managing Director of the PPMC, Bala Wunti.

According to him, Mr Wunti deserves commendation for continuing the good works of his predecessor, Umar Ajiya who is now the CFO, NNPC.
The IPMAN chairman added that Mr Wunti is always in close contact with marketers throughout the period.
He explained that Operation White Project is an initiative, which took stock of all products lifted across the country in a transparent manner.
The initiative, according to him, has helped curtail the smuggling of petroleum products and reduced imported consumption figure.
Mr Dan-Mallam, therefore, called on all IPMAN members across the country to adopt the principles of Operation White Project in order to ensure smooth supply and distribution of petroleum products nationwide.
