Insurgents suspected to be members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, have burnt down the unit offices of the State Security Service, SSS and Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Nnewi, Anambra were on Sunday.
A source who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria on the condition of anonymity said the insurgents came in SUVs.
According to the source, two persons were shot down by the attackers for filming them in the act.
Police spokesman in the state, Toochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack but said it was a case of fire incident.
According to him, at about 2pm, October 3, the command received a distress call of a fire incident in Nnewi.
“Police operatives are currently on ground and the area has since been cordoned off.
“Further details shall be communicated please,” Mr Ikenga, a deputy superintendent of police, said.
