Arsenal were forced to come from a goal down, but goals from Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi saw them secure a 3-1 win against Stoke.

Charlie Adam put the Potters ahead after Granit Xhaka’s clumsy foul on Joe Allen in the box but Walcott pegged the visitors back before half-time.

Ozil completed the turnaround effortlessly when he headed in five minutes after the break with Iwobi adding a third to ensure Arsenal went level on points at the top of the table with Chelsea.

Neither side managed a shot on target during a tepid first-half before Gylfi Sigurdsson opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Jason Denayer was deemed to have handled the ball. Summer signing Fernando Llorente netted a brace to seal a deserved victory for the Welsh club.

The result takes the hosts up to 17th in the Premier League table, while Sunderland fall to rock bottom.A tale of two penalties ignited into a six-goal thriller at the KCOM Stadium as Hull and Crystal Palace played out a high-octane 3-3 stalemate.

The Tigers opened the scoring on the afternoon following a controversial Robert Snodgrass penalty, but Palace soon struck back with a penalty of their own, dispatched by Christian Benteke.

Winger Wilfried Zaha then briefly gave the visitors the lead with a sublime effort but the Tigers had their tales up, striking twice more with Adama Diomande and Jake Livermore on target to snatch what looked to be a vital three points for Mike Phelan’s side.

But at the eleventh hour former Manchester United man Fraizer Campbell popped up to notch an equaliser and break Tigers hearts.
In Spain, Lionel Messi scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over bottom club Osasuna. To put that figure into perspective – it’s nine more than his team-mate Luis Suarez, who also scored in the 3-0 victory, and ten more than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Messi show began in the first half with a sensational pass that put Suarez through. It continued with him assisting Suarez to get the first goal and culminated in him netting the second and the third.

A relieved Suarez said: ‘We were aware that we had a lot of chances in the first half and we couldn’t take them but we just kept going and this result gives us a boost.’
