The national leader of Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah wa Ikamatus Sunnah, JIBWIS, Sheikh Bala Lau, has commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, for his commitment to the social welfare of the citizens.
Mr Lau gave the commendation at the closing ceremony of the annual Quranic recitation competition in Kaduna on Sunday.
While appreciating him for the monetary donations and other gifts to the winners of the different categories of the competition, the cleric said the governor has demonstrated sincere commitment to improving citizens’ lives through numerous initiatives.
According to a statement issued by his spokesman, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the governor also offered “the best two overall candidates from the male and female categories Hajj seats to participate in the 2024 exercise.”
He encouraged Muslims to always integrate the teachings of the Quran into their daily lives, rather than limit its application to challenging circumstances.
He also urged the faithful to “embrace the Quran’s wisdom and guidance because of the transformative power it holds in all aspects of lives.”
While reacting to the complaints by the clerics on the poor handling of pilgrims’ welfare during the previous hajj, Mr Sani announced the composition of a committee to ensure a seamless exercise in the future.
